Melanson Motors is proud to offer this 1928 Desoto Model K Hot Rod. This is an amazing and unique Hot Rod build that remains all Chrysler! A Hot Rod you can comfortably drive and enjoy which features upgraded front suspension and steering, air conditioning, stereo system, power steering, and power disc brakes. This Hot Rod started with an all steel body, hood and fenders. The body was removed from the frame and the frame was sandblasted and painted black. A 1985 Chrysler Fifth Ave front clip was grafted to the frame at that time. The Fifth Ave steering column was also fitted to the car.The panel fit is excellent with good and consistent gaps. The Cadillac Grey paint has a metallic flake that really sparkles in the sun. The paint is 20 years old and shows some small blemishes, but is overall in really great condition. The bumpers and headlight buckets are in great condition. 

    This car has a rebuilt 318 engine with an aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, ceramic coated exhaust manifolds, chrome alternator and electronic ignition with Accel distributor. The transmission is a rebuilt Torqueflight 727 automatic. The rear end is from a 1985 Chrysler Fifth Ave. This hot rod has power rack and pinion front steering. It also has power disc brakes up front.  The undercarriage is nicely detailed and painted black. 

    The interior is all custom and very comfortable. The front bucket seats and rear bench are wrapped in a grey cloth. The interior features a beautiful hand made wooden dashboard with Dolphin gauges. The wood trimmed door panels with black leather panels match the beautiful black leather headliner. A variable speed electric wiper motor is installed.A Kenwood AM/FM radio is also neatly installed.

   The car rides on staggered 15” baby moon style chrome wheels. The tires are Defender Sport radials.
