I am seeking a reliable, creative, and community-minded person to help expand the reach of a fundraising campaign supporting an accessible Umrah journey. The role focuses on outreach, relationship building, sponsorship requests, social media promotion, and identifying new ways to increase awareness and donations.

About the Fundraiser
This position supports my LaunchGood campaign, Help a Muslim Revert with Disabilities Perform Umrah. The campaign is raising funds to help make an accessible Umrah journey possible, including disability-related travel requirements and the cost of travelling with a support person.

Key Responsibilities
• Contact mosques and Islamic organizations throughout Canada and the United States, including researching contact information, establishing communication, and encouraging further outreach.
• Approach Islamic businesses to explore sponsorship opportunities for part of the trip.
• Place campaign posters at local mosques and Islamic businesses throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
• Promote the campaign through social media, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other appropriate platforms.
• Develop clear and engaging outreach materials such as WhatsApp messages, Facebook and Instagram posts, and emails. Creativity is encouraged.
• Post regularly on social media using an established content posting schedule.
• Suggest new ideas and strategies to broaden outreach and generate additional donations.

Skills and Qualifications
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant computer skills for documentation, online research, email, and social media.
• Access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
• Strong networking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Creative, innovative, honest, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative.
• Must have social media accounts that can be used to help advertise the campaign.• Willing and available to begin immediately.

Communication and Reporting
• Complete a Google Form after each shift to record hours, work completed, contacts made, source of each contact, outcomes, and available contact information such as mailing address, email address, and phone number.
• Submit a timecard each week.
• Participate in biweekly video check-ins at the beginning of the role.
• Questions, suggestions, or concerns can be raised as needed. Email, text, or WhatsApp are preferred communication methods.
