Rosie - 4 yr unspayed Belgian Malinois
Description
4 year old, 75 lb, unspayed female Belgian Malinois Rosie for gradual or immediate rehoming (trial as needed).
Very smart, loyal, and sweet girl in many ways but not the right fit for our family of 2 young boys (10 & 12) and 2 cats. The main drawback for us is her unpredictability and rambunctiousness around our boys, their friends, and our cats - combined with her exceptional strength and speed.
Her single bite incident was with one of our boys a couple of months back, and while it was a relatively minor bite, she failed to exercise the same level of bite inhibition (when it mattered most) that she exhibited on a couple of other occasions in the past.
She doesn’t dig, barks very little, has a decent to good heel and recall, sufficient experience on a lead, is perfectly house trained, and has minimal destructive behaviour though she will indeed get into mischief if completely unsupervised. She sleeps indoors and spends much of her day outside in a fully fenced 5 acre space. Morning off leash excursions since puppyhood.
She would make an excellent companion to a capable and experienced handler who genuinely knows and enjoys the challenges and rewards of demanding albeit magnificent dogs. And to someone that has a clearly compatible lifestyle and accommodation situation without young kids, or small pets. She can be hyper-reactive around other dogs though she seems to do better with larger males.
Not looking for homes that intend to cage, extensively chain/tie-off, or surgically alter her. Would like to help with the transition in every way possible. Please call or text Kai at 204-481-4481. Thank you very much.
