FIELD AND KITCHEN LABOURERS

Back Roads Ranch is a growing strawberry farm located near Wakaw, Saskatchewan. We are currently seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team for seasonal field and kitchen work.

Hours:
Part-time and full-time opportunities may be available depending on harvest and production needs. Hours may vary based on weather, crop conditions, and workload.

Main Duties:

Field Labour:

- Pick and harvest strawberries and other produce
- Sort and handle fresh produce
- Perform general field maintenance and farm labour
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Follow harvesting, quality, and food safety procedures

Kitchen Processing:

- Wash, trim, sort, and prepare strawberries
- Prepare berries for freezing and further processing
- Package and handle farm products
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen workspace
- Assist with general food-processing and cleanup duties

Qualifications:

- Dependable and punctual
- Strong work ethic
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks
- Physically able to stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift throughout the workday
- Previous farm, harvesting, kitchen, or food-processing experience is an asset but is not required

Work Environment:
This is active, hands-on farm work. Field employees should be comfortable working outdoors, while kitchen employees will work in our farm processing kitchen. Applicants may be asked to assist in different areas of the operation depending on daily needs.

Compensation:
Wage will be discussed based on the position, experience, and responsibilities.

Additional Opportunities:
Back Roads Ranch is continuing to grow, and additional positions in greenhouse operations, administration, kitchen/food processing, and customer service will be coming available.

Seasonal work is available immediately and is expected to continue through the fall. Strong candidates may also have opportunities for future seasonal or ongoing employment with Back Roads Ranch.
