Cable / Low-Voltage Technician
We are looking to hire a Cable / Low-Voltage Technician to assist with installations in commercial, medical, office, and residential environments.
Start Date: Immediately
Training: Training can be provided for candidates with less than 2 years of experience. Drivers licence is required.
Work May Include
• Installing and pulling Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7 and Cat8 cabling
• Pulling cables through walls, ceilings and existing pathways
• Installing and terminating keystone jacks and RJ45 connectors
• Installing wall plates, surface boxes and cable raceways
• Installing and organizing patch panels and network racks
• Cable testing, tracing and labelling
• Installing security cameras and CCTV systems
• Installing wireless access points
• Installing access-control systems, including card/fob readers
• Running low-voltage cabling for network, security and related systems
• Removing and tidying old or unused network cabling
• Assisting with basic network equipment installation
• Assisting with small construction and renovation projects related to cabling installations
Qualifications
• Cabling and/or construction experience: 1 year preferred
• Knowledge of structured cabling is an asset
• Experience with keystone punching and cable termination is an asset
• CCTV/security camera installation experience is an asset
• Able to use basic hand and power tools
• Comfortable working in ceilings, walls and commercial environments
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to learn new systems and installation methods
• Own tools are an asset, but tools can be provided
• Having your own vehicle is an asset, but not required
Candidates with limited experience are welcome to apply if they are reliable, willing to learn and comfortable doing hands-on installation work.
Schedule: Approximately 6–8 hour shifts
Positions: Full-time / Part-time / Project-based work may be available
