We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and preparing custom cabinets, architectural millwork, and related components to a high standard of quality.
This position is best suited to someone with strong cabinetmaking fundamentals, experience reading shop drawings, and the ability to work independently while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble custom cabinets, casework, and architectural millwork according to approved shop drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, elevations, sections, and details.
Measure, cut, machine, and assemble materials accurately using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
Work with materials including plywood, MDF, particleboard, melamine, laminate, veneer, and solid wood.
Install and adjust cabinet hardware, doors, drawers, shelving, and related components.
Inspect completed work for dimensions, fit, finish, and overall quality.
Troubleshoot fabrication and assembly issues as they arise.
Complete repairs, modifications, and adjustments when required.
Coordinate with the Shop Foreman, Production Manager, drafters, and other team members.
Assist with cabinet and millwork installation on site when required.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Follow company safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience.
Strong knowledge of cabinet construction methods and woodworking techniques.
Ability to independently read and work from shop drawings and technical drawings.
Proficient with common woodworking hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
Experience working with commercial-grade sheet goods, laminates, veneers, and hardware.
Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, fit, and alignment.
High attention to detail and workmanship.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to safely lift and handle cabinetry, sheet goods, and millwork components.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial architectural millwork.
Experience with custom commercial cabinetry and high-end millwork.
Experience with CNC-machined components and production-based cabinet assembly.
Cabinet and architectural millwork installation experience is an asset.
Journeyman Cabinetmaker certification is an asset but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 44.0 per week
