Ideal Earthworks Inc. is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team in the Edmonton and surrounding area.

The successful candidate will primarily work on residential basement excavation and site preparation, along with a variety of other earthworks projects. Our work also includes septic tank and system installations, underground utilities, drainage work, culvert installations, acreage development, and general excavation.

Responsibilities:

* Operate excavators safely and efficiently
* Excavate residential basements and complete associated site work
* Perform grading, trenching, backfilling, and general earthworks
* Work around foundations, existing utilities, buildings, and other site obstacles
* Assist with septic tank and system installations
* Read and work from site plans, elevations, and grade information
* Complete daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance concerns
* Work closely with ground personnel and other equipment operators to keep projects moving safely and efficiently

Qualifications

* Previous excavator operating experience required
* Residential basement digging experience strongly preferred
* Ability to work accurately around foundations and achieve required grades
* Experience with septic tank/system installation is a strong asset
* Underground utility and civil construction experience is also an asset
* Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
* Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a crew
