310T Truck & Coach Technician
Description
Makkinga Contractors is currently accepting resumes for a Truck & Coach Technician in the City of Thunder Bay.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on commercial vehicles, trailers, light‑duty vehicles & heavy equipment
Complete Annual Safeties
Perform inspections and repairs in accordance with DRIVEON system
Complete work orders and documentation accurately and on time
Inspect and road‑test vehicles to diagnose defects and verify repairs
Manage daily work schedule and prioritize tasks effectively
Be available for service calls as required
Operate Electronic Log Books (ELDs)
Use diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repair verification
Order parts when necessary
Work independently and collaboratively with the shop manager, equipment manager, owners, other mechanics, drivers, and crews
Qualifications
310T Truck & Coach Technician (REQUIRED)
310S Automotive Service Technician (ASSET)
421A Heavy Equipment Technician (ASSET)
Demonstrated knowledge of DRIVEON compliance standards
Ontario G‑Class driver's licence with a clean abstract
Strong time‑management skills including planning, prioritizing, multitasking, and productivity
*Makkinga Contractors will support a qualified 310T applicant in returning to school to obtain their 310S and 421A certifications.*
Position Details
Status: Full‑Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
More hours may be available depending on workload
Weekend hours, on‑call hours, and emergency hours may be required
Rate of Pay: Based on skills and experience
