$900
Room in 2BR Loft for Non-Smoker Available Nov. 2026
Description
***PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE AD BEFORE RESPONDING.***
I WILL RE-POST EVERY FEW DAYS TO KEEP THE LISTING EASILY VISIBLE.
IF YOU SEE THE AD, THEN I AM STILL INTERVIEWING POTENTIAL ROOMMATES.
AVAILABLE NOV. 2026
The Specs:
* HARD LOFT (meaning still quite basic, not a fancy condo), converted from a garment factory to individual units, all custom tailored by tenants themselves… very Bohemian.
* 3rd floor (top floor), North facing apartment, looking onto College Street.
* 11 ½ foot / 3.51 m ceilings, and hardwood floors.
* The available (UNFURNISHED) room measures 12 ft 3.5 inches X 11 ft 6 inches / 3.75 m X 3.51 m, and has a loft/sleeping platform measuring 10 ft X 6 ft / 3.05 m X 1.83 m.
* The building has an intercom front entry system, laundry room for tenants (2 washers / 2 dryers), freight elevator for moving, and is on the 24 hour College streetcar line, with the 24 hour Dufferin bus a block away, and the Dufferin Subway station (Bloor Line) an easily walkable distance away.
* Dufferin Mall (with a No Frills grocery store) is only a few blocks away.
The Price:
* $900 per month, including utilities and unlimited high-speed internet.
About Me:
* I am a man, in my early 50s, yet youthful in my approach to life. I am all about living with positivity and fairness. I am independent, yet I AM CHATTY, so I am also looking for a good social fit with my roommate. Even years later, I am still good friends with some of my former roommates.
* I have lived in this loft for just over twenty years, and there is a good sense of community in the building.
* I have always lived with a roommate, often with cats. I am willing to consider a roommate with a cat, possibly more than one.
* I take great pride in my space, and I am often adding to the decor, and making improvements (if you need help with a project, then I’d be your guy).
* Some of my interests are music and movies (at respectful volumes), design, and environmentalism.
* I have recently completed Community Worker studies, and I will be working (outside of the home) at making a difference within downtown Toronto. I am also currently volunteering within three Parkdale community garden groups, including an Indigenous garden. Previously, I worked for nine years at a Toronto animal shelter.
Ideally You:
* Are closer to my age as I am seeking an older roommate to help guarantee that one is dependable, and wants to avoid conflict.
* Are truly a NON-SMOKER (not just about to quit).
* Willing to live within a SCENT REDUCED/SCENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT. I have allergies to many scented products so I have sometimes requested in the past that roommates change over to natural alternatives.
* Will take care of my place, and all of my things, as I do. BEING CLEAN AND TIDY IS A MUST.
* Appreciate a quiet home. Wild parties are more my past than my present.
* Enjoy art and creativity, as it would be great to have that in common.
* Plan to stay a while.
* If this sounds like a good fit, call me (Morgan) at 647-868-2752, and LEAVE A PHONE MESSAGE WITH SOME USEFUL DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF. Consider this message an introduction, a way to get your foot in the door. Also, your phone message ensures that I will not miss you with just a digital notification.
If it is very late, I will have my phone ringer off, so feel free to leave your message at any time.
I will first interview over ZOOM preferably, or by phone if tech is an issue. This tends to be a more neutral setting, saves travel time, and feels safer. If all is going well, we may continue the interview at the loft.
I ask that a roommate truly live up to what I am listing in my ad, and I will always return the effort, yet I will be up front if things are not working out.
This respectful “safe” space can be a great new home.
I look forward to hearing from you.
