Our client is looking for a City Dispatcher

Responsibilities:

Dispatch and schedule drivers according to customer requirements
Monitor driver routes to ensure timely delivery of freight
Identify problems proactively and develop creative and efficient solutions
Act as liaison between driver, operations, shop, driver services etc.
Support equipment and preventative maintenance scheduling as required
Respond to service issues from internal and external customers
Track shipments from pick up to delivery
Maintain accurate and time-sensitive information
Assist in preparing necessary paperwork relating to shipping schedules, customs, fueling, loading and provide to the appropriate stakeholders
Maintaining and building a positive rapport with all drivers and other departments
All other duties as required

Qualifications:

Familiar with the GTA
Experience in a similar role
Must have knowledge of freight loading and unloading
Excellent customer service skills
Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act, hours of service logs, and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is and asset

This is a permanent position and direct hire.

Location: Kitchener

$55,000-$65,000 - depending on experience
