S. G. McKinnon Logging Inc is a forestry company that is looking for a full-time reliable Processor Operator to join our harvesting team. In this role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain processing equipment to ensure logs are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate a forestry processor in active logging operations.
• Process, delimb, measure, and cut logs to required lengths and specifications.
• Sort and pile processed timber according to job requirements.
• Maintain consistent production while ensuring log quality and minimizing waste.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to the processor head and measuring system as required.
• Complete daily equipment inspections, greasing, and routine maintenance.
• Identify mechanical issues and communicate required repairs promptly.
• Keep the machine and work area clean and properly maintained.
• Work safely around other forestry equipment, including feller bunchers, skidders, forwarders, loaders, and trucks.
• Communicate effectively with other operators and crew members.
• Follow all company safety policies and applicable forestry regulations.
• Work independently and productively in changing terrain and weather conditions.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience operating a forestry processor or harvester is strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of log specifications, cutting requirements, and timber quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
• Required forestry and safety certifications are considered an asset.
