“BANDIT”
This one is going to be incredibly hard to see go. Bandit is the kind of horse I genuinely believe will be somebody’s heart horse. He has too much personality, sensitivity and heart to just disappear into someone’s string. I’m looking for the person who wants the connection with their horse just as much as the riding.

He’s a big, solid boy with an even bigger heart. He is incredibly people-oriented and just wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing. Earn his trust and he’s going to smile, bow, and maybe even lay down for you!
And for such a big boy, his mouth is ridiculously soft. He’s soft through his lateral flexions, light in the way he carries himself and responsive to your legs. A little tap with your calves and he collects himself.
He can be ridden in a snaffle, bosal halter, or just neck reins. The softer you are with him, the softer he gets.
Under saddle, Bandit has a good foundation. He walks, trots and lopes in the arena, carries himself nicely and works willingly off your legs. He’s been ridden bareback, hauled off property and taken along on just about every adventure I could find for him.
And the mountains? That’s where this horse shines.
He’s been through water, over bridges, through rocks and rough terrain, around tractors, dogs, traffic, has ponied young colts. He’s an incredible mountain partner and will go pretty much anywhere you point him.
Now for the parts I will NOT sugarcoat.
Bandit is sensitive.
He is not the horse for someone who wants to grab his face, kick harder when he doesn’t understand, and force him through everything. He needs soft hands, confidence and feel.
Because of that sensitivity and his age, I would not call him a beginner’s horse. He deserves a confident rider who can continue developing him rather than someone expecting a finished push-button machine on a ranch.
He can also be dominant in a herd. He knows he’s a big dude and apparently believes everybody else should know it too. If you’re looking for the gelding who quietly accepts being at the bottom of the pecking order, that is not Bandit.
Yes he has a very good foundation, a ton of real-world exposure and an incredible brain, but there is still plenty of horse there for his next person to continue developing!
