Heavy Duty Mechanic
G.E.C. Group Electrical Contractors Ltd. is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy, medium, and light-duty equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy, medium, and light-duty vehicles and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, drivetrains, and other mechanical systems.
Service and repair construction equipment, trucks, trailers, hydrovacs, directional drills, excavators, skid steers, and similar equipment.
Perform welding, fabrication, hydraulic repairs, component rebuilds, and trailer repairs as required.
Complete field and emergency repairs, including travel to equipment and job sites when needed.
Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to identify and resolve issues.
Source and order parts and maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
Prioritize repairs and work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions to management and operators.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company and COR safety requirements.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical experience
Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is not required
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Able to handle a wide variety of mechanical repairs and maintenance
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
Experience with construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and other fleet equipment is an asset
Ability to travel for field repairs and troubleshooting as required
