Hand of Set is an Ottawa-based Metal/Metalcore band currently looking for a committed lead guitarist to join the lineup.

We’re in our early 30s and looking for someone roughly 26–36 years old who is serious about playing music, writing, rehearsing, and eventually getting out there to play shows and build the band together.

ABOUT THE BAND

We currently have two EPs released:

When Love Is Suicide
Farewell, My Love

We also have a new EP currently in the works, with more music and plans ahead.

Our goal is to build something long-term with people who genuinely want to be part of a band — not just jam occasionally.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Lead Guitarist

We’re looking for someone who:

Is committed and reliable
Wants to regularly rehearse and actively contribute to the band
Is interested in playing live shows
Can commit to one practice per week on the weekend
Has a solid understanding of Metal/Metalcore guitar
Is comfortable learning existing material and contributing ideas to new material
Is easy to work with and wants to be part of a team

Live experience is preferable, but not required. Not having played shows before is absolutely not an automatic no. We care more about your ability, attitude, reliability, and willingness to grow with the band.

AUDITION

Original material is preferable, but covers are fine if that's what you have available.

Tell us your age, how long you've been playing, what styles you play, and anything else you'd like us to know.

3. Your band history
Any previous bands, live experience, recordings, projects, etc.

We’re not expecting some perfectly produced audition video. Just show us what you can play.

We want someone who is excited about Hand of Set specifically and wants to help take the band forward.

We're putting real effort into the music and want to find someone who's ready to rehearse, write, play shows, and build something together.
