Antique Victorian Rococo Revival Carved Wood Chair – Late 1800s

Asking $225

Beautiful antique Victorian Rococo Revival parlour/side chair, believed to date to the late 19th century, approximately 1870–1890.

A striking piece with an ornate pierced and carved back, sweeping scrollwork, cabriole-style legs and a rich dark wood finish with lovely age and patina.

The chair is in good antique condition and the frame presents beautifully. The upholstered seat is comfortable and has been reupholstered at some point; the fabric could easily be changed to suit a more contemporary interior. There is a stain on the seat which we have not tried to remove (see pic).

A gorgeous statement chair for a bedroom, dressing room, entryway, living room or period home — and a great candidate for reupholstery if you want to make the carved frame really pop.
