Tile Alive is hiring a full-time Floor Restoration Helper / General Labourer to assist our restoration technicians on residential and commercial projects.

We specialize in hard-surface restoration and refinishing. This is not flood, fire, water-damage, or insurance restoration work.

No experience is required. Training is provided.

Services You Will Assist With

* Natural stone restoration, including marble, granite, limestone, travertine, quartzite, and terrazzo
* Grinding, honing, polishing, cleaning, and sealing
* Floor and countertop restoration
* Shower restoration
* Tile and grout restorative cleaning
* Grout removal, replacement, and colour sealing
* Silicone removal and replacement
* Tub and tile reglazing / spray refinishing
* Concrete grinding and preparation for epoxy coatings
* Epoxy floor coating applications
* Hardwood refinishing support

Main Duties

* Carrying, loading, and unloading tools, equipment, and materials
* Assisting the lead technician during restoration projects
* Equipment setup and breakdown
* Supplying tools and materials throughout the job
* Using basic hand tools and entry-level power tools
* Removing grout and silicone
* Wet/dry vacuuming during stone restoration
* Dust, slurry, and debris control
* Installing plastic protection and coverings around work areas
* Maintaining a clean and organized work area
* Cleaning and maintaining equipment
* Cleaning and organizing company vehicles and the shop
* Inventory counts and organizing supplies
* General job-site cleanup and labour support

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position and involves frequent:

* Bending and crouching
* Kneeling and working on hands and knees for floor-level detailing
* Lifting and carrying equipment and materials
* Working on stairs
* Standing and moving for extended periods
* Working around water, dust, and slurry

Schedule & Transportation

* Full-time, Monday to Friday
* Projects generally begin at 9:00 AM
* Daily meeting/departure is typically around 8:00 AM
* Transit pickup is available at McMaster University at 8:00 AM sharp
* Drivers normally meet at our Dundas shop
* Company transportation is provided to job sites
* Travel time from the company meeting point to and from job sites is paid
* Direct-to-site reporting may be arranged when the project is local to the employee
* Projects are located throughout Hamilton, GTA, Niagara, Brant, and Waterloo areas
* Most weekends are off, although occasional longer days or weekend work may be required

Requirements

* Must live in Hamilton or a closely surrounding area
* Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
* Strong reliability and punctuality
* Professional attitude and willingness to learn
* Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
* Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
* Respectful in customers’ homes and businesses
* Good personal hygiene and clean work clothing required
* Careful and respectful with company equipment, vehicles, and customer property
* Company-paid criminal background check required
* Valid driver’s licence preferred, but not required
* Must be available for regular full-time weekday employment
