Mid-renovation and something looks wrong? Don't keep cutting. Find out what it is first.

TESTING - WE TAKE THE SAMPLES, AN INDEPENDENT LAB SAYS WHAT'S IN THEM
Sampling visit in Calgary - $225
Lab analysis - $85 per sample
A popcorn ceiling test is three samples - $480 all in
A whole house, two or three materials, usually five samples - around $650
Rush 24 to 48 hours - add $60 per sample
Vermiculite attics need a two-person crew under Alberta confined space rules - $425 for the visit plus $165 per sample

If we do the removal, the $225 sampling fee comes off the contract, as long as you go ahead within 90 days.

We don't guess and we don't tell you a material is clear. The lab result does that, in writing, and you keep it.

REMOVAL
Small targeted removals - $1,500 to $3,500. A section of pipe wrap, a furnace flue, one damaged area found mid-reno.
Vermiculite attics - from $4,500, most Calgary bungalows $10,000 to $16,000.
Textured ceilings with asbestos - $8 to $15 per square foot.
Whole-home abatement on an older house - $15,000 to $45,000 and up.

HOW IT'S DONE
Work is classified low, moderate or high risk and set up accordingly - sealed containment, negative air, decontamination, wet methods, sealed and manifested waste to the proper facility under a City of Calgary industrial waste permit. Final air clearance testing by an independent third party runs $400 to $700 where it's called for.
