Professional Driver Profile

Experienced professional driver with more than 26 years of over-the-road (OTR) experience seeking a long-term position to finish out a successful driving career. Throughout my career, I have operated a wide variety of equipment and have extensive experience with manual transmissions, including 10-speed, Super 10, 13-speed, 15-speed direct and overdrive, and 18-speed transmissions. I prefer manual equipment, as I believe it promotes greater awareness of the vehicle's performance and operating condition. I am also capable of performing minor mechanical repairs and troubleshooting when necessary.

My experience includes towing, dry van, refrigerated (reefer), and flatbed operations, with dry van being my preferred freight type. I enjoy the efficiency and productivity of full truckload (FTL) operations and prefer mileage-based work over routes focused heavily on multiple stops and deliveries. I take pride in maintaining a professional attitude, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

In addition to driving, I have broadened my industry knowledge through training in dispatching, load planning, load booking, and customs clearance. This experience has given me a solid understanding of how various aspects of the transportation industry work together.

Over the years, I have developed a clear understanding of the regions in which I operate most effectively. My preferred routes generally exclude the Eastern Seaboard and certain western mountain corridors. While I have limited experience in the Rocky Mountains and major western passes, I believe my strengths are best utilized on routes where I can deliver maximum safety, efficiency, and reliability.

I am currently employed as an OTR driver and am seeking an opportunity that better aligns with my preferred work schedule and operating style. Ideally, I am looking for a position that allows me to remain on the road for 11 to 12 days at a time, with home time every other weekend. This schedule provides a healthy work-life balance while allowing me to maximize productivity and mileage.

As my driving record will show, it is not flawless; however, I am prepared to discuss the circumstances surrounding any remaining issues. I take great care of the equipment entrusted to me and treat every truck as if it were my own. I maintain compliance with Hours of Service regulations, traffic laws, and ELD requirements while working efficiently to maximize available drive time.

I am available to start with minimal notice. My focus is on joining an organization that values professionalism, clear communication, mutual trust, and driver independence. I perform best when provided with the information and resources needed to successfully complete the job, while maintaining appropriate communication and accountability throughout the trip.
