DZ Driver Wanted – Casual / On-Call – $24–$25/hr

Looking for some occasional driving work without committing to a full-time schedule?

Brock Cartage is a small, locally owned trucking company looking for an experienced, reliable DZ driver to help us out on an as-needed basis.

This could be a great fit for someone who's semi-retired, recently retired, or simply looking to pick up some extra driving work.

Here's what the job looks like:

Monday to Friday work — weekends are extremely rare

Mostly local and regional deliveries between Brockville, Kingston, and Ottawa

Occasional longer trips to Toronto or Montreal

Home every night

General commercial freight, mostly dock-to-dock

Driving 5-ton trucks (automatic and standard), cargo vans with trailers, and occasionally smaller vehicles

Loading and unloading with a pallet jack and hydraulic tailgate

What we're looking for:

Valid DZ driver's licence

Minimum 3 years of recent, verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 4 years (insurance requirement)

Must be comfortable driving a standard transmission truck

Driver's abstract and CVOR Driver Abstract required

Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently

Passport is an asset but not required

How the scheduling works:

This is casual, call-in work with no guaranteed hours. Some weeks may be busy, while others may have little or no work available.

We generally provide at least a day's notice when work is available, although occasionally we may call the same morning. You're always free to accept or decline based on your availability.

Pay: $24–$25/hour, depending on experience.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their driving and enjoys working with a small, local company.
