For sale is a vintage “Santa Claus” plastic blow mold with working light. Blow mold decorations became a staple of North American Christmas celebrations from the 1960s through the 1990s, with companies like Empire, General Foam, and TPI Plastics producing colourful outdoor holiday figures. These lightweight, weather-resistant decorations were made by heating plastic sheets and blowing them into molds, creating hollow figures that could be illuminated from within. “Santa Claus” figures were among the most popular designs, often depicted in cheerful poses with toys and gifts.

Vintage blow molds have experienced a resurgence in popularity among collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate mid-century holiday nostalgia and retro Americana. These pieces are highly sought after by Christmas decoration collectors, vintage holiday enthusiasts, and those who enjoy nostalgic Americana. The appeal lies in their cheerful aesthetic, connection to childhood memories, and representation of a simpler era of holiday decorating. Well-preserved examples with vibrant colors and minimal damage command premium prices in the collector market.

Approximate measurements: 40”H X 16”W (at widest point) X 14.5”D (at deepest point). Presented in good overall condition (with wear consistent with age and exposure to outdoor elements). Colours remain vibrant and intact. A wonderful addition to your Christmas home decor!!
