A New Chapter in My ECE Journey — Welcome to Mustard Grove Early Learning!
After 8 years of working as an Early Childhood Educator in Canada, I’ve decided to begin a new chapter by opening my own licensed family day home in Southeast Calgary.
My name is Angela, and I’m an Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator. I’m also a mom of three, with two teenagers and a kindergartener of my own.
Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-K children, with most of my experience in toddler rooms. I’ve learned so much from the children I’ve cared for, and they have given me countless little moments that remind me why I chose this profession.
Taking care of young children is not always easy. It takes physical energy, patience, understanding, and emotional commitment. But the rewards I receive from the little ones are truly special.
It’s in their smiles when they see me in the morning.
It’s their little hands reaching for mine, inviting me into their play.
It’s the excitement on their faces when they know it’s time for a felt story.
It’s those moments when a child understands what I’m saying just by looking at my face, even before I say a word.
And one of my favourite parts of being an ECE is sharing those little victories with parents and guardians — the new words, the brave attempts, the friendships, and the small steps that mean so much in a child’s development.
These moments may seem small, but they are a big part of growing up.
This is why I decided to open Mustard Grove Early Learning.
I want to provide a warm, welcoming, home-like environment where I can give more individual attention to a small group of children. A place where children feel safe to explore, play, create, build relationships, and grow at their own pace.
I also believe that caring for a child means building a relationship with their family. I value open and transparent communication with parents and guardians. I welcome your questions, appreciate your concerns, and am always happy to share observations, discuss your child's needs, and work together to support their development.
Every family knows their child in a unique way, and I believe we can learn from each other. Your trust is something I will never take for granted.
It is a privilege to care for your little one, to hold their hand as they explore the world, and to be part of their early childhood journey. Thank you for allowing me to be part of such an important time in your child's life.
