My previous roommate has moved on, and I am in need of another roommate companion as soon as possible, so that I can feel safe staying at home, especially at night hopefully very soon.

I am currently in search of a single, mature, committed, compassionate, empathetic, level headed, tidy and responsible woman who has a steady day job to be a roommate companion for me in my home in Fort Macleod.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be subsidization through accommodation and compensation IF I require physical support throughout the night. Further negotiations will be discussed as required, and I will have a proposed offer that adheres to all laws and regulations ready for our first meet and greet.

All candidates must be being willing and able to stay with me in my home overnight from Sunday- Thursday each week after my caregiver has left for the evening for safety reasons only.

I am a 29 year old faith- filled, passionate young woman who is determined to live life to the fullest. I have an adorable goldendoodle named, Remy. Some of my favourite things to do include reading, journalling, playing games, spending time outdoors, and my part time day job as an early childhood educator when my health permits.

I need a roommate companion who is able to stay with me in my home overnight, because I live daily with the effects of Cerebral Palsy and a recent diagnosis of Epilepsy. As a result, I am dependent on a power chair for all aspects of mobility. The vast majority of the time I do not require assistance during the night, but I take comfort in knowing that someone is here to help if needed.

All of my personal care needs are looked after by a fantastic group of ladies throughout the day and into the evening, and it would not be your responsibility.

What this would mean for you:

Sunday-Thursday evening, you would be required to be home by 9pm. This is necessary because of the nature of my health condition.

If you are a person that likes to be out late on a regular basis, this is not for you.

You MUST have a valid driver’s licence and vulnerable criminal records check.

I have respite care in my home every weekend starting on Friday at 5pm until Sunday at 9pm, meaning you would not need to be “ on” Friday or Saturday overnight.

The rental rate would be drastically reduced including some perks for the selected candidate,which will include all utilities and internet. The rate and damage deposit will be discussed in person. Please inquire by email to learn more.

You will have access to a private bedroom and bathroom, and shared kitchen and living area space with a designated pantry for your belongings. I also have plenty of freezer space that I will happily share! I can provide pictures upon request.

The room has been recently painted, and it is large enough to fit a queen size bed, a dresser and a night table if you wish, complete with a closest for storage.

You will be required to sign a six month minimum tenant contract for the purpose of commitment and my unique needs. There will be an option to extend the contract after the 6 months has passed if it is mutually agreed upon. Ideally, I would prefer an arrangement that is long term for the sake of stability and routine.

You will have the opportunity to improve the quality of someone’s life with the gift of companionship!

Keep in mind that there is some flexibility for nights away if it is requested in advance, but generally speaking, this is why I offer Friday and Saturday nights away.

You do not need to have experience with people with disabilities to be considered. I am just looking for someone who has a willing heart and a friendly disposition.
