Black Hammer is a metal framing contractor starting work in Calgary in February 2027. We are looking for self-employed metal stud (steel stud) framers and framing crews to work as independent subcontractors on commercial projects.

Pay: Piecework, paid per linear foot (LF). Rate set per project
Start: February 2027
Self-employed individuals and crews welcome

The work:
- Layout and installation of track and studs from drawings
- Exterior metal stud walls, parapets and soffits, including heavy gauge
- Work at heights from lifts and scaffolding

Requirements:
- Self-employed, invoicing Black Hammer for work completed
- 3 years of commercial metal stud framing, verifiable with references
- Your own WCB Alberta account with a current clearance letter
- Working at Heights or Alberta Fall Protection certificate (current)
- WHMIS certificate (current)
- Own tools, including screw guns and cutting tools, and safety gear
- Able to read construction drawings
- GST number if applicable
- Own liability insurance is an asset
