Title of position: Solar Panel Installation Technician

Job duties:
- Perform site preparation work on rooftops to ensure worksite is ready for solar panel installation
- Install solar panels on commercial and residential rooftops using a variety of tools
- Assist site electrician with wiring, conduit, and other materials required for completed installation
- Interpret drawings and blueprints and consult with supervisor/site lead to plan daily work
- Gather materials from workshop and travel to worksite each day
- Haul equipment and materials up to rooftops, carrying up to 50 pounds
- Work safely at heights using fall protection and employ personal protective equipment
- Perform site cleanup and keep customer’s home or business clear of debris and contamination
- Perform other duties to support site supervisor, as required


Terms of employment: Full-time, permanent position for approximately 40 hours per week; Daytime shifts with occasional weekend shift

Wage: $30.00/hour

Education required: Completion of high school is required. Post-secondary education in an electrical, roofing, or engineering field may substitute for required work experience.

Work experience required: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in electrical work, residential or commercial roofing, residential installation or servicing, or a related field is required for the position. On-the-job training may be required for candidates with experience in related fields.

Language requirement: Fluent communication in English is required for the position.

Skills required: Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in a variety of seasonal conditions; must be comfortable working at heights and bending, stretching, and sitting, and kneeling; Class 5 driver’s license is required for transportation between worksites during work hours.
