Maintenance Worker - Part Time, Medical/Residential Property
Description
We are a small locally owned medical clinic seeking a dependable, hands-on, and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to support the ongoing cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of our clinic space and affiliated residential properties.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values reliability and accountability, and enjoys helping keep a small business running smoothly. We are seeking an individual with general handyman and maintenance experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinic and property owners and will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities include routine clinic cleaning, minor repair work, lawn and exterior upkeep, seasonal maintenance support including snow removal, and monitoring the overall condition and presentation of the clinic. Residential properties will not require any routine maintenance, but occasional handyman support.
Position Details:
- Part-time: approximately 8–15 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling
- Primarily evening and/or after-hours clinic work
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning & General Upkeep (clinic only)
- Perform routine cleaning of clinic and common areas including waiting rooms, washrooms, offices, staff areas, and treatment spaces
- Vacuuming, mopping, garbage removal, surface cleaning, dusting, and general organization
- Adhere to clinic cleaning, maintenance, and safety policies and procedures
- Monitor overall building presentation and identify areas requiring attention
- Monitor and restock cleaning and facility supplies as needed
2. Exterior Property Upkeep (clinic only)
- Perform routine lawn and exterior upkeep including seasonal cleanup, garbage management, and maintaining tidy outdoor spaces
- Assist with seasonal exterior clean-ups and property presentation
- Assist with routine snow and ice clearing of clinic entrances, walkways, and small parking areas using provided equipment and materials
- Support the general appearance and upkeep of clinic property
3. Maintenance & Handyman Duties (clinic and residential properties)
- Perform routine maintenance and general handyman tasks independently
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor building and maintenance issues proactively
- Complete basic plumbing repairs including toilets, faucets, and drains
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as: light bulb replacement, hardware replacement, mounting and installations, touch-up painting, drywall patching, caulking, fixture/small general adjustments and repairs
- Identify and report repair or maintenance issues to owners
- Assist with commercial and residential unit turnovers as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial work, property maintenance, or general handyman services required
- Comfortable independently performing minor repairs and troubleshooting common property issues
- Strong working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Experience with lawn care and exterior property maintenance preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, organized, and self-directed
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle is required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, moving supplies, lawn maintenance, snow clearing, cleaning, and routine maintenance work
- Flexible, dependable, and responsive to ongoing operational needs
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within a healthcare environment
