Support Worker / Home Support Worker

Location: Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia
Salary: $21.90 - $34.00 per hour

Grade 12 equivalent. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Experience:
7 months to less than 1 year of related experience in caregiving, home support, residential care, community support, or a related field.
Work Location:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work Setting:
Employer's/client's home
Residential support setting
Non-smoking environment
Responsibilities:
Administer bedside and personal care.
Administer medications in accordance with care plans and company policies.
Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Assist clients with mobility and transfers.
Assist clients in water-based activities and recreational programs when required.
Support clients with daily exercise, community participation, and recreational activities.
Change non-sterile dressings as directed.
Feed or assist clients with feeding.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
Plan therapeutic diets and menus when required.
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Launder clothing and household linens.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, behavioural challenges, and other support needs.
Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, hiking, outdoor recreation, and other outings.
Maintain accurate documentation and report changes in client condition.
Support clients in achieving personal goals, independence, and quality of life.
Required Certifications:
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate
MANDT System Training or willingness to obtain upon hire
Additional Requirements:
Valid Criminal Record Check
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to maintain professional boundaries
Ability to participate in community outings and physical activities
Knowledge of medication administration procedures is an asset
